ha ha, so you've tried it too huh. we went out tonight and i tried Ayja this arvo with a bottle just in case my big sis had to give her one. boy did i get told off ! she would not drink from the bottle, she didn't even stop crying when i put it in her mouth, even when i pressed down on it so milk came out. nup, not the real thing, not having that!

i think i'll just hang off, i tried her with the avent bottle... supposed to be like the breast... whatever... doesn't look like it! last time i was told to buy the flat teats that were the same shape as Paris's dummy, and they worked great.... maybe try that if you haven't already...

jake was a guts so I never had a problem. he had his first bottle at about 4 weeks. He took it from my nana no problem, and took it from me no problem too. He didn't really care where the food was coming from as long as it kept coming....guess thats why he's a little heffalump now.

Maya refused to take a bottle, no way, no how. I started trying her on it at 9 weeks, and she wouldn't have it from me or anyone else. By 5 mths she woul drink water out of a cup, but not breastmilk or formula. I ended up going to daycare twice a day to breastfeed the fussy little monkey.
When we eventually had to wean her at 10 mths because she was sick, they put her in hospital for 3 days, sent me away while she was being fed and literally starved her into taking the bottle.
After we got her on the bottle tho I did find that she would only take the Avent bottles with the big teats. (and twice the price, typical Maya!)

Are you trying with Expressed milk or Formula?? if you are using formula try expressed milk.. And if you can ask somebody else to try giving the bottle and keep out of sight, caleb was bottle and breast from the start so I had no worries and i'll do the samewith this one, I started on expressed milk but he needed added calouries to it any way so i put him onto formula any way and he did both till about 6mnths when he gave up the breast on his own.. Also try feeding before they get to hungry, maybe half an hour earlier than you would normally feed so the dont get up tight and frustrated, hope this helps alittle

Maybe try her first thing in the morning. Or when she is asleep just get her out of the cot and put the teat in her mouth. Jayde will only take the tommee tippee pur teats. Does she have to be weaned? Maybe just try her drinking from a cup?

yep those are the teats that Paris had, the flattish ones, cos the dummies made by them are the same shape.

I've had no luck switching to bottle either. She took it at about 6 weeks and then a few weeks later wouldn't have a bar of it. I've tried (I think) everything... different bottles, different teats, different times of the day, different people feeding her, taking a break for a couple of weeks ...trying everyday - nothing!!! Someone suggetsed putting a bit of honey on the teat, but I later found out that honey can contain some nasty bacteria that is very dangerous to little bubs, so glad I didn't try that one! If there's anything I've missed, I'd love more suggestions on how to make the switch.

I'm having the same problem... my baby is 14 weeks, and took a bottle every so often in the past, but obviously not often enough. I tried one the other day and she got very very angry. I'm trying to summon the energy to give it another go, but at the moment she's forgotten how to sleep for long stretches. She was doing quite well... up to 7 hours at night, but now we're doing well if we get 5. Argh.
