Sweetpea - that sounds like a good idea to give yourself some time for you. And I get wanting to have your body as your own for a bit before starting again - especially if you’ve been breastfeeding (and that’s after months of pregnancy and all the procedures and indignities you had to put yourself through before that!)
Star - how are things going with your monitored cycles?
AFM - I’m doing a long cycle so we can time everything for the PGS (has to be coordinated with when the lab has times available). My previous cycles were short ones so I haven’t had to do buserelin injections before. I started last night and immediately got a headache and have felt odd all day so I’m not looking forward to the next month!! Has anyone else had experience with buserelin? How’d you find the side effects?

I soooo understand what you're going through, a part of it anyway. It sucks when AF shows her face. Every month on the 2ww, I try not to get too excited and hopeful. I don't want to be disappointed. But it seems I always think ''but it might have actually worked this month, it's possible...isn't it??'' Then you start having fake symptoms… you get your hopes up and BAM, AF pops up!! And it's as hard or even harder month after month. Then you get to thinking… what if it NEVER happens??!! We’ve been ttc for almost 3 years already! It’s so unfair! It really sucks when you want something and everything you do just doesn't seem to be enough. I know I am not the only one who gets this way every month but sometimes you feel so alone. Yes have a great husband who has put up with soooo much! But still each 2ww for me is tough time.

Hey Roubaix, we are still monitoring, nothing really to report! Ugh dumb that the buserilin is knocking you around. I remember getting headaches from it, from memory I think they subsided after the first few days, hope it’s the same for you x
Welcome Mellany! Yeah 2ww is not nice when it’s month on month on month, the emotional roller coaster can really mess with you and put a strain on your relationship too. Have you seen a fertility specialist yet? And managed to get any insight on why things aren’t working for you?

Hi Star - so much of this is a waiting game isn't it! The headaches have definitely improved and I actually feel ok at the moment.

Glad you're doing better, Roubaix! I can't recall how I felt on buserilin.
Star, wishing you good luck.
AFM, well we decided to move ahead with our next frozen transfer and although it's very early days I'm currently pregnant.

Ooo fingers crossed for you ADN!!!!
Sweet pea, glad you have a plan in place.
I managed to wean bub and have had my first AF so will be interesting to see if it's on time this month. I've decided to go see Fertility associates next month to discuss everything and get a scan done after my November AF and then transfer after December AF aslong as those pesky polyps haven't returned! I figure if they haven't I should move as quick as possible to try avoid another surgery to remove them. My next decision is whether to transfer one or 2 embryos since we will be paying for the transfer ourselves, we have 4 frozen. Any insight on how to decide this? I thought yes as then we would only have to go through 2 transfers and that would save heartache and money but then I'm scared of twins lol

Congratulations ADN!! Hope things are going well. Faith, I haven't seriously considered the one or two embryo decision but have thought about it (and then put it aside for later as I think I'm prepared to go through one more round of IVF if this one doesn't work). I think it's possibly worth talking to a counsellor about as they'll hopefully be able to help you work through all the issues involved. But having said that, here's my 2 cents worth... There are a few things I'd think about when making the decision (bearing in mind that only you know what is right for you). Firstly, do you want three kids (regardless of whether they're twins)? If you only transfer one and it works, what would you do with the remaining embryos? How much money would you potentially save if you transfer two? Is that amount of money worth the risk of twins for you? (That answer will probably depend on your financial situation and how much you're scared of being pregnant with, and then raising, twins). Also, would twins end up costing more to raise so does it balance out? But then the answers to all those questions would need to be balanced by the heartache of failed transfers. AFM - started stims last night so I'm preparing to get extra moody for the next wee while

Faith, it's a hard decision on number to transfer. How many did you transfer before you were successful?
Best of luck, Roubaix!
Unfortunately I miscarried so now just dealing with the fall out from that.

I’m so sorry to hear that ADN. My thoughts are with you xx
I had egg collection on Thursday. 7 eggs and 5 have fertilised. A wee bit disappointed with only 7 as that’s about what I had last time and this cycle I was on more than double the stims (and feeling it) so had hoped for more.

So sorry ADN for your news :(
Roubaix stay positive that's still a good number.
We transferred 3 before being successful, although I think the second would of stuck if it hadn't of been for a polyp that hadn't been removed fully so ended in a chemical pregnancy. Think we will just do one at a time and hope we have success early on. But I've made an appointment to go see my doctor at fertility associates to find out what I need to do etc before trying again.

Sorry to hear ADN! I hope you have lots of support around you - be sure to take some “me time”. Good luck Roubaix - how many made it to the freezer? What’s the turnaround time on the PGS? Just another month for me. Not expecting our chances will be high this cycle as I was travelling 2 days leading up to ov and hubby was too sick to BD when I got home

We only ended up with one embryo that was good enough to biopsy so we haven't gone ahead with PGS. And another one was good enough to freeze but not biopsy, so there's 2 in the freezer. We couldn't do a fresh transfer as I was deemed to be at too high a risk of OHSS.
Star - those kind of months suck. And it does always seem like travel and sickness (or other complications) always seem to strike at the exact wrong time of the month when you're TTC.

Had my appointment with FA today and turns out my remaining embryos are all covered under public funding which is awesome as I thought we were going to have to pay! All looking good for a transfer in January. Getting a scan done after my next period to make sure no polyps have grown back and then have the script ready to go for the estrogen for the following cycle. Excited and totally scared all at the same time to be back on this rollercoaster!
Hope all is well with everyone.

Hi all! It has been sooooo long since I have popped on here! I think I have taken quite a break from here and not been on since early last year after the last of our IVF's failed. I wanted to pop back in again as we have now started our public funding round, for PGS and always remember how great it is to have this forum during these times, as no one else I know really gets what we are going through. So just briefly, since early last year we have just been casually trying on our own, obviously to no avail. I had another AMH test done recently which shows a decline since my last test in 2016. So there's that! This round we are now with Repromed, after being with FA previously for more than 3 years, it is quite the change. So they could time things with the PGS I was put on the BCP for 2 weeks, and due to the AMH results they put me on Elonva, one shot with the nurse yesterday, and that's it till my blood test this Friday. No nightly puregon or anything which is soooo different to what I did the other times. I may have to have a couple of shots of puregon but will know after the bloods and scan I think. So with the mountain of knowledge here, I wondered if anyone had any feedback on Repromed, and has anyone done a cycle similar with the Elonva? Big hi to those I recognise, Star, Roubaix, Faith, AND and Sweetpea!!! I haven't yet had a chance to read back, but I hope you are all here trying for another after last success - and that you aren't here too long

That's great news Faith! January will be here before you know it.
Welcome back Storm!! Great to see you (and sad at the same time). I've been with Repromed for all of my IVF rounds (private) and have found them great. But I have known other people who have had a few wee issues - nothing major, but almost mistakes with medication etc so I'd say it's worth double checking everything. In particular the nurses have always been super helpful (although I definitely have my favourites!). I've just tried to do PGS (not on Elonva though), but with only one good embryo we decided it wasn't worth it - no point paying $3k to choose the best one out of one.
I've had my review appointment and apparently ending up with 2 frozen embryos is the average across all clinics in Auckland. Next steps are a bit up in the air because of dates, but this is where the nurses have been great. They have a cut off date of 1st December for day 1 for natural FET (because of Christmas shutdown), which I'll probably just miss, and then I'm likely to be away in January when I'll need blood tests. So the nurses said to call when I get my Day 1 in December, and they'll check my last few cycles to see whether I'd be able to be squeezed in. And if that timing doesn't work, they've sent me off with enough drugs and blood forms to be able to do the tests in the Coromandel if needed. I know those aren't big issues, but it's reassuring to have a plan for whenever AF arrives.

Thanks Roubaix! The nurses so far have def been great! Did you get put on BCP before your PGS cycle? It was a first for me and i’m finding that my AF that has come as a result of stopping that (all part of the plan) is just heavier and lasting longer than my usual AF. Wonder if that’s normal? Sorry to hear you only got the one embryo but fantastic if they’ll be able to squeeze in your transfer in Dec 😊
